If you need a little more inspiration and motivation, here are four highly powerful and educational documentaries that uncover the truth about the meat industry, as well as the impact on our health and environment.


1. Cowspiracy

The Sustainability Secret is a 2014 environmental documentary following filmmaker Kip Andersen as he uncovers the most destructive industry facing the planet. This shocking yet witty documentary reveals the devastating environmental impact large-scale factory farming has on our planet and offers a solution to sustainability for our growing population.

2. Black Fish

A 2013 film about the story and controversy of the captive killer whale, Tilikum, in SeaWorld Orlando, who attacked and caused fatalities among three people in the entertainment park. Director Gabriela Cowperthwaite investigated the ordeal the whales experienced during capture and captivity, and how it influenced their aggressiveness contributing to the attacks.

3. What the Health

A follow-up film to Cowspiracy by the same director, it exposes the collusion and corruption in government and big business that is costing us trillions of healthcare dollars. Kip Anderson explores the alleged connection between the meat, dairy, and pharmaceutical industries, as well as various health organisations. Also known as "The Health Film That Health Organisations Don't Want You To See”.

4. Fork Over Knives

Forks Over Knives is a film that aims to empower people with the knowledge that a whole food, plant-based diet can prevent and even reverse many diseases like diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer. The film traces the personal journeys of a pair of pioneering researchers, Dr T. Colin Campbell and Dr Caldwell Esselstyn, and their research and efforts in curing patients without medicine.
